What is Body Casting?

Body casting is the process of creating a detailed mould directly from the body, capturing the natural shape, texture and uniqueness of the area being cast.

At Bloom, I take a mould of your vulva using gentle, body safe materials, and then transform it into finished artwork that can be displayed, gifted or kept as a personal reminder of your journey. No two pieces are ever the same.

For some, this process is celebratory, for others, it’s healing. For many – it’s both.

What to expect during your session

When you arrive, we will sit down for tea and a chat. We’ll flip through some amazing books by other artists and we’ll talk about the process to ensure you’re 100% comfortable before we get into it.

While I prepare the materials, you’ll remove your underwear and lay on the bed in the butterfly position (feet together, knees apart)

I will then apply a body safe moulding material to your vulva which captures all the details. The material is very “neutral” feeling. You may experience some light stimulation during the application. The material will take a few minutes to dry. All up, this part takes no more than 10 minutes.

The mould needs to be cast fairly quickly to avoid distortion of the details, so once you’re cleaned up and dressed, we’ll say our goodbyes and I’ll get to work on turning your cast into a beautiful art piece.

2-4 weeks later, your art piece is ready!
