What is Vulva Casting?
Vulva casting is the process of creating a detailed mould directly from the body, capturing the natural shape texture and uniqueness of the area being cast. Learn more about the process here.
Is it Invasive?
I would say it’s less invasive than a pap smear or wax. Your vulva will only be exposed for about one minute before I apply the materials (externally only) so it’s not to uncomfortable. Your comfort is my top priority and you can stop at any point during the process.
Can I bring a Friend?
Yes! A lot of people more comfortable with the process having somebody they know and trust by their side, so please feel free to bring your friend or partner. You’re also welcome to make a double booking for two casts!
Will I Be Judged?
Absolutely not Bloom is a respectful, non-judgemental space centered on acceptance and celebrating diversity. It’s totally normal to feel nervous, but your comfort is always my top priority.
Who is Vulva Casting for?
Any person with a vulva who wants to celebrate, honour, or preserve a part of their body through art. All bodies, identities, ages (18+) and experiences are welcome.
How Long Does it Take?
Most appointments take 30 – 90 minutes depending on how long we drink tea and chat for. The actual moulding process takes less than 10 minutes! The longest part is waiting for your final cast – this process takes 2-4 weeks.
Cost
$399. A $100 deposit is require to secure your booking and the remaining $299 is due one week before your appointment. This includes a 90 minute face to face appointment and a beautiful vulva sculpture in a finish of your choice.
What if I have my period?
This is absolutely fine as long as you feel comfortable! For hygiene and the integrity of the cast, I recommend using a tampon, menstrual cup or disc during your session. These options help prevent blood affecting the mould.
Pubic hair
While I am a big fan of all body hair, for the best outcome – short hair (2mm max) or no hair is preferred. If you’re not comfortable with this and would really love a cast – please reach out to privately chat about your options.
